We have had the pleasure of being hired to photograph the weddings of several close and personal friends within the past several years. Caleb & Kristin are one of those couples. If you have been following our blog for long, perhaps you can recall their engagement session. Caleb and Ryan have been friends for the past few years, as they play on the city league softball team together. In addition to being completely dreamy, Caleb is also a super nice guy with an awesome family. His mom and dad would often come out to root him on in softball and we have really enjoyed getting to know them. Ryan and I would always try to think of girls we could set Caleb up with (our goal in life is to tie down all of our single friends of marrying age). Luckily, God had a much better woman in store than we ever could have come up with! Insert Kristin. To know Kristin is to love her. Sweet, beautiful, caring and intelligent are just a few adjectives that could be used to describe her. We were able to get to know Kristin well when she started dating Caleb, as she joined the wives on the bench for the softball games. The next couple years were filled with softball games, cookouts, super-bowl parties, brunches after church, and the occasional wedding of mutual friends. Caleb & Kristin also attended a few of the weekly dinner nights (along with the Lawson’s and their daughter Leigh) at our house which were some great evenings I will never forget. One of the things I love about Kristin is that when people talk or are telling a story, she REALLY listens. She is genuinely interested in what people are saying, asking questions and wanting to know all of the details. This may seem like a small detail, but in a day and age where everybody seems wrapped up in their own lives (myself included), someone like Kristin that takes the time and is really interested in the stories and lives of others really stands out. As they dated, we all started making bets on when Caleb would finally propose. It took him a little longer than expected, but boy.. was it worth the wait! He ended up completely surprising her and proposing on a trip to Chicago and the entire story is one of the best engagement stories I have ever heard. You’ll have to ask them for all the details! One thing that was very important to them was to be married in one of the most beautiful places in our area… Cypress Dunes (which is also where their engagement photos were taken). Their beautiful sunset ceremony took place on an elevated sandy point overlooking the forest and ocean… just breathtaking. One of the most beautiful venues for a ceremony that I have ever attended. After the ceremony followed a fun night of eating, dancing, laughing (okay.. there may have been just a liiiiiiittle drinking too)! Thank you Caleb & Kristin, not only for your friendship but for the honor of choosing us to photograph this very special day. We love you!!! ~Erica
